Cloud Computing

In the book, Cloud Computing: Web-Based Applications That Change the Way You Work and Collaborate Online, author Michael Miller explains that while cloud computing might be the next best thing, it might not be the next best thing for everyone. He lists the several advantages and disadvantages of cloud computing and gives a very simple explanation of each. While the advantages of cloud computing greatly outnumber the number of disadvantages, Michael Miller tries to make it clear that the disadvantages should be closely considered by people unfamiliar with cloud computing and whether or not it will prove advantageous to them.

Blog Research

We feel that this blog is very effective because it provides viewers with everything they need to feel confident before they fry their first turkey. In the very first paragraph, the writer assures the viewer that fried turkeys are in fact delicious and non greasy. This makes fried turkeys sound more enjoyable to eat which subsequently gives the viewer more incentive to seek professional turkey friers for the holiday season.

Cloud Computing

It is well known that cloud computing has existed for quite some time through services such as Saas; however, it is not until the past decade that the term has started to become a buzz word. Running a company's important applications containing vital company data in a cloud can be cost effective, but we must also consider the cloud's security.
The Cloud’s economies of scale and flexibility are both a friend and a foe from a security point of view. The massive concentrations of resources and data present a more attractive target to attackers, but cloud-based defences can be more robust, scalable and cost-effective.

We must weigh the fact that vital company data could be leaked versus the cost effectiveness of having that data in the cloud.

Research

This blog post is effective because it has a video and is very easy to read. It is also short, which is a benefit for web readers since you cannot grab the attention of the reader for a long period of time. The writer seems reputable because of the numerous other posts on the food topic, so more people are inclined to believe what he says.
